Obedience leads to guidance

Obedience leads to guidance

Simple Marquee

obedience is a key in our Christian race

“It was thus that Sarah obeyed Abraham [following His guidance and acknowledging His headship over her by] calling him lord (master, leader, authority). And you are now her true daughters if you do right and let nothing terrify you [not giving way to hysterical fears or letting anxieties unnerve you].” 1 Peter 3v6 (AMP)

God loves us, His ways are best, and He can lead us in the best direction for our lives, even to fulfill His purposes. Psalm 32v8 (NLT) says “The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” We see in the life of Abraham, how God speaks to him in Genesis 12v1-5 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:… So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him… And Abram took Sarai his wife…” Or how God revealed His plan through an angel to Mary about her being the mother of Jesus, and thereafter would give guidance to Joseph about when to depart from a particular place, when danger is ahead e.t.c. Wives and husbands have important roles to play in the family, and God can and does lead in the best pathway for life.

The Dakes concordance gives this commentary on 1 Peter 3v6 that “As Abraham is the father of all that believe (Rom.4:12,16), so Sarah is here spoken of as being the mother of many daughters who walk in her footsteps (v6).” It also notes on the “fear” as being “Fear of detection for infidelity. If you do well, being faithful wives, as Sarah, you will not live under fear of being found guilty of infidelities.” It pays to walk with God, and in His purposes for our lives, our marriages, our gifts… With so much going on in today’s world, it is imperative that we seek to go deeper with the Lord and let Him guide and direct our lives, and marriages and bring us into the fullness of all He has for us.

Obedient is the key to direct guidiance from God.
